KC Aryan: Indian Folk & Tribal Art

KC Aryan was one of the foremost pioneers whose entire life was devoted to the conservation of Indian folk and tribal art. A distinguished painter and sculptor in his own right, Aryan travelled all over the country to unearth India's unexplored folk heritage. Over a period of seven decades, he built up a vast collection and established his personal museum. We are now pleased to offer a selection of rare First Editions featuring KC Aryan's work on India's folk art.

The first book is a rare First Edition on the murals of Punjab which were painstakingly explored and documented by KC Aryan. First published in 1990, this book features a deeply insightful monograph on the wall paintings found in the different regions of Punjab. The second book — Indian Folk Bronzes — is a rare First Edition that explores the rich but obscure heritage of rural Indian bronze figurines. First published in 1991, this book was a comprehensive sequel to the author's first book on the bronzes of north-western India that was published in 1973. Both these rare First Editions are richly illustrated with numerous images with analytical notes on each artwork.

We are also pleased to offer a stunning hardback First Edition of a book — Unknown Masterpieces of Indian Folk & Tribal Art — that was published as a tribute to KC Aryan after his death. Published on superlative glossy paper and lavishly illustrated, this book features KC Aryan's unparalleled personal collection of folk & tribal art.

Many images of these beautiful First Editions are attached herewith for the perusal of those interested.
