My Music, My Life by Ravi Shankar :: highly rare signed First Edition (1968)

In memory of the legendary Indian musician Pandit Ravi Shankar, we are pleased to offer a highly rare signed First Edition of his first book — My Music, My Life. First published in New York in 1968, the introduction of this book was written by the great violinist Yehudi Menuhin. This rare book recounts the author's extraordinary boyhood, first in Benares and later traveling with his brother Uday's famous dance troupe; his self-education in Paris and the revelation that fame failed to bring with it peace of soul; his crucial decision to put aside material pleasures and dedicate himself solely to his music and the relentlessly demanding guru who taught him.

This book is the highly rare First Printing originally published in New York in 1968. The original dust jacket designed by the acclaimed American artist Lawrence Ratzkin is completely intact. This rare book bears a gift inscription signed by Ravi Shankar.

Numerous images of this precious rarity are attached herewith for the perusal of those interested.
