On the occasion of the 40th death anniversary of the great industrialist and the dedicated Gandhian visionary Bhagirath Kanoria [1895 – 1979] on the 29th of October 2019, we are pleased to offer an extremely rare and out-of-print commemorative volume which was published in the year 1981. This rare volume begins with several chapters charting the course of Bhagirath Kanoria's life — his birth, his professional and his familial life, his involvement in the freedom struggle, his role in the spread of education etc. Further on, this book includes 141 commemorative essays by several renowned figures who were acquainted with Bhagirath Kanoria including Vinoba Bhave, Kaka Kalelkar, Mahadevi Verma et al. A special chapter is devoted to the letters written by Bhagirath Kanoria including reproductions of his original hand-written letters.
This book is also an important historical document for those interested in the history of Bengal, Rajasthan and the Marwari community. Some of his articles on the famines of Rajasthan etc. were reproduced in this book.
