Jayaprakash (1981) :: rare First Edition

Arguably the finest and the most comprehensive tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan was first published in 1981 in Gujarati. Envisioned and researched by Narayan Desai & Kanti Shah, this book was classified into five sections. The first part features a large number of reminiscences of Jayaprakash Narayan by several people from all walks of life. The second part is an exhaustive pictorial chapter featuring numerous photographs of Jayaprakash Narayan from his early youth until his death. The third section comprises an extensive biography of Jayaprakash Narayan by Narayan Desai & Kanti Shah while the fourth contains autobiographical essays in Jayaprakash Narayan's own words translated into Gujarati. The fifth section consists of a number of poems on Jayaprakash Narayan in Hindi and in Gujarati, including three of his own poems (1 in English and 2 in Hindi). The English text and the Gujarati translation of two important letters by Jayaprakash Narayan (addressed to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and to Indira Gandhi) are also included in this section. This book also features a selection of facsimile reproductions of his handwritten manuscripts in English and in Hindi.

We are now pleased to offer an extremely rare and out-of-print First Edition of this superlative book.

The complete table of contents of all the five sections and many other images of this rare First Edition are attached herewith for the perusal of those interested.
