While the caves of Ellora are renowned for their rock-cut sculptures, this book is devoted to the lesser-known artistic treasures of the paintings in Ellora. Most of the walls and ceilings of the rock-cut caves of Ellora were once adorned with splendid paintings. Over the centuries, much of the wealth of Ellora paintings has been lost. Yet, the surviving murals of Ellora offer a striking glimpse into the astounding repertoire of its paintings.

This insightful monograph was authored by Dr. P. V. Ranade who had conducted extensive research on the art of the Ellora caves.

The original dust jacket of this book is completely intact. This book contains several illustrative plates of the paintings in Ellora. This book is extremely rare and hard to find, especially in such excellent condition as the one we are offering.
